
Evanghelos Emm. Perakis

Prof. Dr. E. Perakis is an acknowledged leading expert in commercial law. He has participated in Greek and international law drafting committees on company and insolvency law, including the ad-hoc Group for the elaboration of an EC Bankruptcy Convention; the European Model Company Act (“EMCA”) Group; Chairman of the ad-hoc Committee for the amendment of the Greek Law on Sociétés Anonymes in 2005-2007 and again in 2013-2018, which resulted to the introduction of Greek law 4548/2018 on Sociétés Anonymes; Chairman of the ad-hoc Committee for the drafting of a law on private companies (2011), which resulted to the introduction of Greek law 4072/2012 on (inter alia) the Private Companies. He has been repeatedly appointed arbitrator in both domestic and international arbitration proceedings, including proceedings under ICC and LCIA arbitration rules, and has also acted as counsel in arbitration proceedings. Prof. Dr. E. Perakis is member of the Legal Council of the Bank of Greece and member of the board of various non-profit foundations.

She has acted for numerous clients on structuring, negotiating and completion of venture financing and formation of funds. Prior to joining the firm, she was head of the legal department of Emporiki Kefalaiou, the venture capital/private equity subsidiary of Emporiki Bank that has been active in Greece, the Balkans and Eastern Europe, dealing with corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions and due diligence of companies.

Yiannis V. Palassakis
Partner
Yiannis has an extensive track record of advising on domestic and international securitisation, structured finance and banking transactions and assists on several covered bond programmes established by Greek banks. Yiannis is also heavily involved in the privatisation projects of the firm. Prior to joining DVLaw, Yiannis worked with major Greek law firms in similar practice areas as well as in various EU funded technical assistance and investment support projects in the Balkans and the former Eastern bloc regions and worked as special legal advisor for the Hellenic Bank Association dealing with consumer credit, regulatory and capital markets issues.

Manolis Ev. Perakis
Senior Associate
Manolis Perakis is Assistant Professor of EU Law at the Law Faculty of the University of Athens. He joined the firm in 2010 and since then he is actively involved in all public procurement and privatisation transactions, advising mainly on EU and administrative law aspects. Furthermore, he is involved in numerous ICC and local arbitrations as the Court’s assistant. Prior to joining the firm, Manolis worked with another Greek law firm on EU, public procurement and competition law cases, assisting in the preparation and filing of law suits before the Court of Justice of the European Union and of complaints before the European Commission. In 2003, Manolis served as trainee in the Cabinet of the Greek judge and President of the Court Mr. Vassilios Skouris.
